About Mark


I was born in Colorado but have been in the Pacific Northwest for thirty years so I feel like I’m from here. This area has definitely given me an appreciation of the outdoors and I’m thankful that right at our backdoor is one of the most beautiful areas of the world.

I have one younger brother and three older sisters who have a total of seven kids ranging from 5 - 16 years old. Most of them live in our general area so our nieces and nephews have grown up around us and it’s fun being part of their lives.

I've always enjoyed being around kids and enjoy their curiosity and though I can be grown up when appropriate I still know how to be a kid too!  Most of all I like being involved in their activities and seeing them learn. 

I’ve worked for the City of Tacoma as a Systems Administrator since 2001.  My job is challenging without being too stressful so I enjoy it very much.  It’s also great that I generally only have to work 40 hours a week which leaves me lots of time to spend with friends and family or doing various activities.

 
 
I consider myself adventurous and like to find new places and activities to enjoy.  I’m quite content out on the trail exploring with my truck, my mountain bike or on foot.  I like traveling and enjoy planning various trips and activities too.

I’ve been into photography for many years and enjoy taking travel, event and motorsports photos.  It is definitely my creative outlet and a good excuse to get out and about. 

Most of all I love spending time with Jen.  No matter what the activity I’m happiest when she’s around and I'm very excited to start this new chapter in our lives together. 



PS. I know it’ll be a while but I'm so excited to build a tree house for our future child I can hardly wait!
